        Shamanism

The shaman’s work entails maintaining balance in the human community as well as in the relationships between the community and the gods or divine forces that direct the life of the culture. When these various dominants of existence are out of balance, it is the shaman’s responsibility to restore the lost harmony.

        ~ Joan Halifax

Shamanism is an ancient tradition and method of healing, that promotes well-being, wisdom and a return of innate power at the soul level of consciousness.

Shamanic knowledge and healing is accessed by invoking altered states of consciousness, this opens the portals to what we refer to as "the otherworld".

Shamanic states of consciousness are used solely for the purpose of healing, seeking wisdom and knowledge or helping a loved one transition from this world to the next.

Shamanic healing can include the restoration of health and well-being (on a soul level) of a place, an individual, a culture, a family unit, a pet.

Power retrieval or soul retrieval can restore balance and vitality after a personal or major tragedy, these include but are not limited to the loss of a loved one, divorce, surgery, accident, traumatic event.

There are several classic methods used by the shamans over the globe to restore balance and wellbeing these include, soul restoration, power animal retrieval, extraction of a block or hindrance, de-possession of an entity, dream interpretation, psychopomp and divination.

Each shaman has their own skill-set which is guided by their spirit helpers.

Please note I do not work with mind altering plant materials..

      • Mentoring

A few years ago I was in a dark place, I had given up something that was very important to me, something I had set my heart on and had worked very hard towards for many years.

My husband had become ill with a serious muscle wasting disease, our consulting business started to lose ground and our world became upended. A long standing personal dream was dashed and movement toward my desired goals was halted abruptly. I took it very badly and very personally. I learned quickly that our desired goals and pathways are not always under our control and not always meant to be traveled the way we think they should be.

Through divine intervention or synchronicity, whatever you might call it, I found myself with a healing opportunity in the form of a mentor, the perfect mentor, my old college professor showed up out of the blue.

We decided to meet each week via Skype for one hour. We talked about what was going on, mostly I talked, he listened. No therapy, no judgement, just listening and witnessing, each sharing our stories and our interests. We developed a contained vessel of kindness, reflection, and caring. It was exactly what I needed. I was able to hear myself beyond my disappointments. It was a powerful thing to have a non judgmental partner be present with me in darker places.

I learned much from Mark, he is a neuroscientist and we explored the world of neuroscience and much more as my consciousness expanded.

My own work with clients has naturally developed towards a similar mentoring approach.

I try to meet my client where they are and follow their process through their dreams, conflicts, suffering and pain.

What I have learned is that when we are authentically seen and heard, we can be present to ourselves and that is where change and healing happens.

I'd love to hear from you.

Your night dreams are tailored to you, they carry your unique medicine, consult them.

When all else is failing you, tell your story, it is a living field of energy and vibration.

Be an inspiration ~ you are a piece of art living, working, influencing and touching everything around you.

Words have power, use them wisely.

        With the great trees,

        In one with my body

        And my heart,

        Do you all help me

        With supernatural power,

        And you, Day

        And you, night

        All of you, see me

        One with this world!

        Susan McClellan

        As a mentor and guide.

I've heard it said that teachers come into our lives when we need them the most.

There is no other person who could have helped me through what was for me the unimaginable. At the age of forty six, I expereinced a swift and intense spiritual awakening that lifted the veils between our ordinary world and the spirit world. Susan, helped me regulate my personal understanding of conscious and unconscious energies. As a developing medium it was critical for me to understand the spirit world and the collective unconscious.I can now navigate through day to day experiences with more ease and discernment.

Many issues are beyond the realm of psychotherapy and need to be handled with a broader and yet deeper approach. By combining her skills as a shamanic practitioner and her training in depth psychology Susan has demonstrated she can tackle the seen and the unseen energies with skill. Professionally Susan is patient, caring and makes you feel safe. Every word is as important as the next one.. Every feeling and emotion shared is relevant,

Whether you are going through something profound or just want to check in to see if you are on the right path, Susan can help you to put your spiritual house in its rightful context.

        As a Teacher.

Susan is a rare and gifted teacher. As her student she met me where I was and from her broad experience and knowledge led me to the threshold of my own understanding. It was far more enriching and empowering than simply learning facts and techniques. She taught me how to foster my own soul and how to support others in cultivating theirs. It has been a great blessing in my life to call her teacher. In my 20 plus years as a healer I’ve not meet anyone who brings as much integrity, skill, and wisdom to her craft.
